Venus of Willendorf On Edge. First doodle of the year!

I picked up my ipad and opened the Paper app last night and drew this voluptuous lil' lady. They have new tools in the app where you can cut and paste shapes, so it was fun to play with that. I wanted to make her in the same vein as the Venus of Willendorf, whose body shape I can  relate to completely. ha.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year my little Face Dances blog. I need to get back to drawing and creating. I once in a while will pick up my ipad and draw in the Paper by 53 app, like below, but that's not enough.

Blue-Haired Lady

This is my Blue-Haired lady. I love her. I need to name her, but right now I can't think of anything. Also, she needs a story. I just know it. She's begging for one. Just look at her. She has so much to say.

The Nutcracker

I figured this might as well go here, too, since I actually drew it, and there is technically a face in it. Though, it's not set in stone that all drawings here must have a face in them. I mean, just because the name of the blog is Face Dances and the tag line is about drawing faces. Why limit myself, right? And anyway, it's my blog and I can do whatever I want....within reason according to the google monster.

created with Paper by 53 and pic monkey

So, here is our Christmas card from last year, Mr. Nutcracker. I added the gingerbread man and the candy cane frame in pic monkey if I remember correctly.

Oh, and Happy New Year, and thanks for visiting, you one individual person!

Red-Haired Flapper Girl Digital Drawing Made With Paper by 53

Last night I picked up the ipad for the first time in a long time.

She looks like a flapper a little bit.

Franz Made With Paper by 53

Franz came shortly after Fancy (previous post). He's not as happy...or as cute. But I love his hat!

Fancy

I don't know where this one came from. I was just trying to draw a ribbon banner at first, and then the word fancy popped in my head, started drawing a girl, and she ended up looking a bit German. ha.

Mr. Magnum Is A Grumpy Old Dog

Mr. Magnum is Jason's dog, and he is very old and grumpy.
He doesn't like to be touched.
He still makes us laugh and I think he is going to live forever.

Jason #4. Happy 44th.

Today is my husband's birthday. I drew this of him last night while we were watching TV. I think it took a little over 2 hrs. Good thing about the Paper by 53 app is you can erase and start over as many times as you need (which I needed a lot) without ruining real paper. But, I'm pretty happy with it. It's the closest I've come to his true likeness so far.
