Drawing a Trail of Bread Crumbs

Drawing a Trail of Bread Crumbs via facedances.blogspot.com

Today's prompt in my little drawing art book was to draw "a trail of bread crumbs".

I think these prompts are silly when I first look at them, but it usually turns out that I have a lot more ideas once I start drawing. I guess that's the point. ☺

Drawing a Toy Boat Anchor in a Toy Sea near a Toy Beach with a Toy Starfish

Drawing a Toy Boat Anchor via facedances.blogspot.com

As I mentioned in my last post, I received a little art book from my husband for Christmas. Today's prompt was to draw "a toy boat anchor".

Here I give you a toy boat with a toy boat anchor in a toy sea, near a toy beach with a toy starfish. fun! ♥

Drawing Eyes

Drawing Eyes via facedances.blogspot.com

One of my Christmas presents from my husband was a little book with pages and pages full of drawing inspiration. I opened the book one day to a random page, and was prompted to draw an eyelash.

Drawing eyes is a lot easier than I thought. As long as you get the basics, and it's recognizable, then your own interpretations on shading, light, size, shape will more than likely be a success.

The ONE thing I have a problem with, oddly enough, are the eyelashes. I look at other sketches of eyes online and the eyelashes have this sharp curve on them that I just can't replicate. I can draw an eye, but a single eyelash is giving me fits. Crazy, right?

Venus of Willendorf On Edge. First doodle of the year!

I picked up my ipad and opened the Paper app last night and drew this voluptuous lil' lady. They have new tools in the app where you can cut and paste shapes, so it was fun to play with that. I wanted to make her in the same vein as the Venus of Willendorf, whose body shape I can  relate to completely. ha.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year my little Face Dances blog. I need to get back to drawing and creating. I once in a while will pick up my ipad and draw in the Paper by 53 app, like below, but that's not enough.

Blue-Haired Lady

This is my Blue-Haired lady. I love her. I need to name her, but right now I can't think of anything. Also, she needs a story. I just know it. She's begging for one. Just look at her. She has so much to say.

Jason #5

Sketch of Jason using paper by 53
Sketch of Jason using paper by 53

Here we go with technicalities again. Yes, this is the fifth drawing of Jason to post on this blog, but technically it's the second drawing I did of him according to the date. But, since I just now found it then we'll call it #5.

The Nutcracker

I figured this might as well go here, too, since I actually drew it, and there is technically a face in it. Though, it's not set in stone that all drawings here must have a face in them. I mean, just because the name of the blog is Face Dances and the tag line is about drawing faces. Why limit myself, right? And anyway, it's my blog and I can do whatever I want....within reason according to the google monster.

Christmas Nutcracker
created with Paper by 53 and pic monkey

So, here is our Christmas card from last year, Mr. Nutcracker. I added the gingerbread man and the candy cane frame in pic monkey if I remember correctly.

Oh, and Happy New Year, and thanks for visiting, you one individual person!

Doodle While You Work #11: Flip Girl

My little flip girl pencil sketch. When I first drew her hair, I thought, Darth Vader.
Hopefully that isn't what you see first, or at all.
